How it works
A QR code encodes data as a grid of dark and light modules. Choose the type, fill the matching fields, then set size, colors, quiet zone, and error-correction level. Higher error correction recovers more damage but produces a larger, denser pattern.
Worked example
Choose Website URL, enter https://example.com at 300 × 300 px with Low error correction and a 4 px quiet zone. The tool generates a QR image that scans straight to https://example.com.

Frequently asked questions
Is this QR code generator free?
Yes. Every QR code you create is completely free to generate and download. There is no account, no watermark, and no usage limit. The code is built entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
Do static QR codes expire?
No. A static QR code has no expiration date and no subscription behind it. The pattern is fixed once you download it, so the code keeps scanning the same content for as long as the image file exists.
Can I edit a QR code after downloading it?
No. A static QR code stores its content directly in the pattern and cannot be changed after download. To update the destination, generate a new QR code. Editable destinations require a dynamic QR code with a hosted redirect service.
Can I track QR code scans?
No. This free tool creates static QR codes, which do not provide scan analytics. Counting scans requires a dynamic QR code that routes through a redirect server able to log each visit.
Can I add a logo to my QR code?
Yes. Upload an image in the Customize section and keep it modest. Raising the error-correction level to High helps the code still scan reliably even with a logo covering part of the pattern.
What file format can I download?
You can download your QR code as a PNG image. The file is generated in your browser and works for sharing online, in documents, and for printing at the size you choose.
Why is my QR code hard to scan?
Common causes are low contrast between foreground and background, too little quiet-zone margin, an oversized logo, very long encoded content, or printing too small. Increase contrast, add margin, shorten the content, or print larger.
What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
A static QR code stores its content directly in the pattern and cannot be changed or tracked after download. A dynamic QR code stores a redirect link, so the owner can edit the destination later and count scans while the redirect service stays active.
